(Jersey City, NJ) – Eisele Gallery is excited to announce its participation in the Art Fair 14C, October 12-25th, 2023. The Gallery will feature a solo booth (B-24) highlighting paintings by artist Kevin Darmanie. The 5th Edition of Art Fair 14C will take place at the CRRNJ Terminal Building, located in Liberty State Park, Jersey City, NJ. Kevin Darmanie is a figurative painter whose works explore intersections in digital media and paint implicated by his relationships both personal and societal. Working largely in watercolor on paper, the Trinidad & Tobago, born Newark, New Jersey native uses the common conventions of digital platforms and media sharing to inform his images before rendering them in paint. His past work incorporates tropes of graphic novels to re-examine Caribbean attitudes, social critique, and self-introspection. In his current series ‘Selfie World’ Darmanie confronts and complicates ideas around desire, proximity and deconstruction. He has exhibited at Peninsula Art Space, New York, NY, Paul Robeson Gallery, (Messier Gallery at Express Newark) at Rutgers University, NJ, The Reginald Ingraham Gallery, Los Angeles, CA, The Harold B. Lemmerman Gallery at New Jersey City University, NJ, Ground Floor Gallery in Brooklyn, NY, Gallery Aferro in Newark, NJ, Ramapo College, Ramapo, NJ and the Utah Arts Center, UT.
Art Fair 14C’s non-profit mission is to increase opportunities for artists, expand public access to fine art, strengthen careers in the visual arts and activate under-recognized arts areas. The Art Fair 14C will coincide with Jersey City Art Week, October 12-15, 2023, Featuring the 34th Annual Jersey City Art and Studio Tour, Mana Contemporary Open Studios and the International Sculpture Center Annual Conference.
